Leslie really likes Norfolk pines

Nice warm water but poor body-surfing at Manly beach (big waves though)

Pretty big umbrella tree, eh?

Anyone know what this tree is?

The ficus trees (figs) have airborne roots

Cypress trees aren't small either

No Leslie, we can't take it home!

It rained for 2 of the 4 days we were there, it often rains in summer but this time it was caused by Cyclone Steve off Karratha, 3,000 miles away!! Sydney is quite humid during summer and the drought has just broken. The Botanic Gardens are right next to the Opera House and shouldn't be missed if you go there (you can miss the downtown area (CBD) though, it's as bad as London! The Flying Foxes cause a fair amount of damage and are moved along regularly (although I wouldn't go near the smelly, nosiy blighters).
We stayed at the Habour Rocks Hotel, right in the rocks area. We highly recommend it (but it has no A/C).
